Everbright Environment Holds Its First Safety and Environment Management Exchange Meeting and Knowledge Competition




On 25 September 2020, China Everbright Environment Limited ("Everbright Environment") held its first environmental safety exchange meeting and knowledge competition in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. The event provided a platform for participants to share and exchange their experience and ideas on safety and environment management, so as to further improve their proficiency on safety and environment management and to develop an outstanding team in this field. By doing so, the company aims to establish a safe and smooth environment for the business operation. Li Chunju, Deputy General Manager of Everbright Environment participated in the event and delivered a speech.



During the exchange meeting, considering the current situation and challenges faced by Everbright Environment, Li Chunju said in her speech that the year of 2020 marks the beginning for the company to transform from the high-speed development model to a high-quality growth path. There are responsibilities, pressure, opportunities and challenges all along. The company should be aware of China's current situations relating to safe operation and pollution control, in order to properly respond to new challenges, as well as to further enhance its sense of responsibility, mission and urgency for work related to safety and environment management. Directors of all functional departments, the business sectors, regional offices and projects of the company should act as the key persons in responsible for all safe operation work. The directors are expected to lead the implementation of relevant work, carry full responsibilities, and make sure safe operation duties at all levels are carried out for all processes, at all positions and by all employees. All staff should take their responsibilities and work closely with each other in order to nurture good momentum, and contribute to the company's goal of becoming a world-leading ecological and environmental management group.

The event was jointly organised by the Department of Safety and Environment and the Department of Human Resources at Everbright Environment, together with the staff union of Everbright Environment (China) Limited. With the theme of solidifying the foundation, improving the systems and developing a long-term mechanism for safety and environment management, the exchange meeting discussed issues relating to work implementation, outcome and experience from various aspects, such as team building, implementation of accountability, work mechanism, innovation and others. The event also planned on the future safety and environment management work. This meeting has gathered intelligence and effort of the company's staff from the field of safety and environment management, showcasing the company's great attention to safe and compliant operations from all functional departments and business sectors, offering valuable replicable experience for the company's future work on safety and environment management.



Following the exchange meeting, a knowledge competition was held. A total of 11 teams from the eight business sectors of the company competed with each other for the top three positions in the competition, which included four sessions: team presentation, required questions, tie-breaker questions and bonus questions. Eventually, the "Greenergy Team" from the company's greenergy sector won the first honor and the outstanding event organising award. Teams from the environmental energy sector, Everbright greentech sector and Everbright Water won the second and third positions. The competition showcased the professional competence and quality of the company's safety and environment management professionals, and also demonstrated the Everbright Spirit and Strength.



More than 100 participants joined this event, including the managerial staff of the safety and environment management departments of all business sectors of Everbright Environment, in addition to working staff from the safety and environment management team of relevant project companies.
