Everbright Environment Holds Meeting with Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School


On 16 January 2021, Wang Tianyi, Chairman of the board and CEO of China Everbright Environment Group Limited ("Everbright Environment" or the "Company"), met Gao Hong, Executive Dean of Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School ("TSIGS"), at the Shenzhen headquarters of Everbright Environment. During the meeting, the two parties had an in-depth conversation about extensive collaboration with each other, in the areas of talent, technology and environment protection. The meeting was attended by Wu Xiaofeng, Secretary of TSIGS; Kang Feiyu, Deputy Dean of TSIGS; Qian Xiaodong, Li Chunju and Yang Shiqiao, Deputy General Managers of Everbright Environment; and Zhao Bin, Special Assistant to CEO of Everbright Environment.



At the beginning of the meeting, Wang Tianyi extended his warm welcome to the TSIGS team and introduced the Company's overall development by playing the corporate video. He said that Everbright Environment is going through its most successful period ever, as it has achieved the "Two Biggests" and the "Two Bests". In terms of operating performance, the Company has achieved breakthroughs in scale and profitability over the past three years, moving close to the world-class level. In the meantime, Everbright Environment has bravely stepped out from the comfort zone. It focuses on making solid progress on two types of businesses, namely municipal facilities and consumer products; expanding the domestic and international markets; and further enhancing its innovation capability. In terms of technology research and development ("R&D"), Everbright Environment has been granted the most patents of various types in the global waste-to-energy industry. The Company has substantially established the "Four-in-One" technological innovation and R&D layout, with platforms in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Qingdao, in a bid to promote technology-driven development and form the core competitiveness.



Wang Tianyi said that as an enterprise based in the Greater Bay Area ("GBA"), Everbright Environment has been actively participating in the development of the GBA. As the Company's innovation research institute was set up in in the Nanshan iPark, Everbright Environment is looking for industrial-academic research collaborations with government authorities, colleges, scientific R&D institutes and enterprises in Shenzhen, in order to boost its innovation capabilities, pursues development that is driven by technological innovation, and carry out strategic transformation, in a bid to become a world-leading ecological and environmental group. He also said that TSIGS has achieved campus interantionalisation, with evident influence in the city, which will facilitate the innovation progress in Shenzhen and the GBA, as well as to drive corporate collaborations in the GBA. Everbright Environment is anticipating discussions on in-depth collaborations with TSIGS in terms of research projects, talent, sharing of equipment, training, as well as the environment protection sector. The Company will proactively carry out industrial-academic collaborations to achieve complimentary edges and a win-win situation with TSIGS.

Firmly rooted in the GBA, TSIGS is actively moving towards the goal of becoming a world-class graduate school, by recruiting faculties and students across the globe, and fostering international collaborations. It has prioritised the establishment of first-class engineering disciplines for Tsinghua University in Shenzhen, forming the "6+1" areas of focus and innovating talent training models particularly for the education sector. By improving the talent training and scientific research quality, and actively explore industrial-academic research collaborations, TSIGS aims to serve innovative development in Shenzhen and the GBA. Gao Hong also said that TSIGS looks forward to enhancing collaborations with Everbright Environment, particularly in the areas of nurturing talent, training and environmental protection, so as to develop together with Shenzhen and facilitate the city's industry transformation and the innovative development of the BGA.
