Standing Still in Greater Bay Area, Pursuing Further in Shenzhen

Wang Tianyi, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Everbright Environment, Meets Wang Hongbin, Vice Chairman of Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPPCC


On 4 February 2021, Wang Tianyi, Chairman of the Board and CEO of China Everbright Environment Group Limited ("Everbright Environment" or the "Company") met with Wang Hongbin, Vice Chairman of Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at Everbright Environment's Shenzhen headquarters. Both parties held in-depth discussions on Everbright Environment's development in Shenzhen and the facilitation of ecological conservation progress in the city. Qian Xiaodong and An Xuesong, Deputy General Managers of Everbright Environment, and Zhao Bin, Special Assistant to CEO of the Company joined the meeting.

Wang Tianyi extended his warm welcome and gratitude to Wang Hongbin and his team for their visit and care shown to Everbright Environment, followed by an introduction to Everbright Environment by playing the corporate video and briefing on the Company's projects under construction and in operation. Mr. Wang said that Everbright Environment has achieved the "Two Largest" and "Two Best". In terms of business performance, the Company has achieved steady growths in scale and efficiency, moving close to the world-class standards. In terms of business layout, the Company has solidified its positions in the traditional business segments, is tapping new businesses in the fields of resources and energy, such as waste sorting, resource recycling and energy-saving lighting, and is striving to solidify its water business as the second growth stream. In terms of market expansion, Everbright Environment has been actively expanding in the domestic and international markets, and rapidly expands its presence in countries along the "Belt and Road" route, including Vietnam. In terms of technological innovation, Everbright Environment has completed its "Four-in-One" research and development system layout, with platforms in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Qingdao cities. With the largest number of patents in the waste-to-energy sector, the Company is also proactively exploring consumer products in the environmental protection, and strives to become a world-leading ecological and environmental group.



Wang Tianyi said that Everbright Environment, as a state-owned enterprise that is listed in Hong Kong, shoulders its responsibility and mission, enhances efficiency and vitality, strives to establish a new development layout, and carries out structural reform. Meanwhile, as an enterprise based in the Greater Bay Area ("GBA") with headquarters in Shenzhen, Everbright Environment endeavors to work with government authorities at all levels, institutions of higher learning, scientific research institutions and businesses of all types in Shenzhen, to actively contribute to the GBA development. The Company has also established Everbright Environment Innovation Research Institute in Nanshan Smart Park of the city. It will put further effort in technological innovation, leveraging on the technological innovation in both Shenzhen and Hong Kong, in an effort to serve the green and innovative transformation of Shenzhen and the GBA through quality development, and looks forward to more collaboration with Shenzhen in the green and low-carbon fields, environmental protection and technological innovation, in an attempt to better participate in Shenzhen's transformation into a pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics ("Pilot Demonstration Area"), and facilitate the city's effort to promote ecological conservation and green development.



Wang Hongbin said that Everbright Environment has a clear development strategy and professional edges. It has established a benchmark waste-to-energy plant that leads in the industry as the plant benefits the neighborhood. The steady growth of the Company's business scale and profitability is astonishing. He noted that Shenzhen, as one of the first carbon emission trading pilot provinces and cities, is striving to foster high-quality development of the Pilot Demonstration Area and set a good example. With the goal of achieving carbon emission peak and carbon neutrality, the city has set more stringent requirements for work relating to soil remediation, hazardous and solid waste treatment, and green and low-carbon initiatives. Shenzhen welcomes Everbright Environment to set its headquarters in the city, and hopes the Company to give full play to its advantages as China's largest environmental enterprise. Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPPCC will help in all aspects of communications between Everbright Environment and relevant institutions and authorities in the city, and looks forward to better collaboration between Everbright Environment and Shenzhen in the area of environmental protection, to enhance development consensus and achieving win-win results.
