Everbright International Secures Reusable Water Project in Zibo

Marks Beginning of Reusable Water Business

China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or "the Group") through its wholly-owned subsidiary Everbright Water (Zibo) Limited ("Zibo Water"), has signed a "Reusable Water Supply Agreement" with Huadian Zibo Power Company Limited, marking the beginning and expansion of the business of the Group to cover reusable water projects.

Zibo Water has been studying the feasibility of processing the waste water from the Zibo waste water treatment plant and turn it into supplementary water for power plant boilers. The reusable water quality will be reaching the drinking water standard after rounds of intensive treatments. The project carrying a total investment cost of RMB55,000,000 will be able to process 400 tonnes of water an hour and will take about six months to build. Construction is expected to begin in June this year and supply of water shall start by the end of the year.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping, Chief Executive Officer of Everbright International, said, "The Group has shared lots of good news about expansion of its business scope recently. In July 2009, Zibo Water signed a "Resources Recycling Cooperative Agreement" (《資源再循環合作合同》) with the Zibo Municipal Government wherein it is granted the right to start a reusable water project in Zibo City. The project being a resources recycling project is exempted from payment of waste water treatment and water resources fees. Backed by supportive government policies and at the continuous efforts of the Group's R&D department, the Group believes it will grow in scale and strength with more breakthroughs that are conducive to its aim of giving back to the society."
