Xidong Project is designed with a daily household waste processing capacity of 2,000 tonnes, and it is expected to generate over 243,000,000 kWh of green electricity annually. Its gas emissions will fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard. Construction of the Project completed in 2011, but it has not yet commenced operations. Wuxi Municipal Management Bureau appointed Everbright International to activate Xidong Project under an entrusted operation model. Everbright International will first upgrade the relevant facilities at the Project in order to ensure it complies with the international standards.

Mr. Chen Xiaoping, CEO of Everbright International, said, "The Wuxi municipal government's decision to have Everbright International to activate the Xidong Project signifies yet another example of the successful use of the Group's technological expertise and experience in waste-to-energy. Whether it is in technology, equipment or operations management, the Group's overall capabilities are widely recognized. 'Entrusted operation rights' will become a new approach to cooperation in which the Group will leverage its technology, equipment and experience to lead the development of the waste-to-energy sector. Everbright International is committed to developing Xidong Project into a high quality waste-to-energy project, which will effectively relieve pressure on municipal household waste treatment in Wuxi."
