Everbright International Secures Jiangxi Ji'an Waste-to-energy Project

10 April 2018, Hong Kong – China Everbright International Limited ("Everbright International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 00257) is pleased to announce that the Group has recently won the bid and signed for Ji'an Waste-to-energy Project ("Ji'an Project") in Jiangxi Province, which commands an investment of approximately RMB637 million.

Ji'an Project will be invested and constructed in a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model for a concession period of 30 years. The project is designed to have a daily household waste treatment capacity of 1,200 tonnes, and is expected to generate green electricity of approximately 129,000,000 kWh annually. The project will be equipped with two 600 tonnes/day mechanic grate furnaces and one 25MW turbine power generator. Its gas emissions fully comply with the Euro 2010 Standard.

Currently, landfill is the main method of household waste treatment in Ji'an City. Ji'an Project will be the first waste-to-energy project in the city. As the city continues to grow its economy, expand its urban areas and develop the local tourism, the amount of household waste has increased accordingly. As a result, a waste treatment solution that is able to achieve the harmless treatment, reduction and reuse of waste will help to improve the local ecological environment.

Mr. Wang Tianyi, CEO of Everbright International, said, "Ji'an Project is a benchmark project for Everbright International as the Group taps the environmental protection market of Jiangxi Province. The project is also the Group's first waste-to-energy project in this province. Everbright International will develop the project into a demonstration ecological project as requested by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province. By adhering to its operating philosophy of 'Integrity, Pragmatism, Efficiency and Innovation', the Group will make Ji'an Project a quality, exemplary and safe project, setting a good example in Jiangxi Province as part of the 'Beautiful China' initiative. The Group will also consider the project as a breakthrough for further expansion into the environmental protection markets in the province, and strengthen the market competitiveness of the 'Intelligent Manufacturing by Everbright International' brand, in order to deliver environmental, economic and social benefits more effectively."
